'Presented by Ralph McDaniels. Produced in collaboration with LionFox Events and Post No Bills. A community-oriented day of DJs and emceeing, dance performances, food, art-making, and local legends! For the second summer in a row, Socrates partners with pioneering VJ/DJ Ralph McDaniels, founder and host of Video Music Box and Hip Hop Coordinator at the Queens Public Library, to celebrate the impact and positive evolution of hip hop culture with a day in the Park. Local legends The Disco Twins brought hip hop vinyl DJ sets in addition to other special guests! Free Style Arts Association was on-hand to make collaborative art projects with the public all day. The festival opened with music and dance performances from the community including: The Lynnelle Whichard Kids Ensemble, 696 Build Queensbridge, and Secret Society Dance Company, plus the “Hometown Heroes Power Hour” produced by Strawhat Dynasty and DJ RAY BLK featuring Jam Young, Penny for Thought, and Strawhat Dynasty & Dj Suhkai.'
